A Spectacular Trip
This tour combines some of Arizona’s most popular destinations and some of its most breathtaking scenery. We have mixed the stunning beauty of Sedona, the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River’s Lake Powell into one unforgettable tour. (North Rim of Grand Canyon is available May to October.) Year Round Option - South Rim of Grand Canyon, Sedona and Lake Powell
©2006 DetoursDay 1 - Our tour departs Phoenix for Sedona’s Red Rock country around 7:00 am. There will be some time for sightseeing and to pick up lunch for later. Traveling north, we approach Flagstaff and the 12,600 foot volcanic San Francisco Peaks. Upon arrival at the South Rim of Grand Canyon, there are many options including helicopter rides and hiking. We have a sunset rim tour before or after dinner, depending on the season and an overnight in one of the rim lodges or in Tusayan
Day 2 - Today is an early departure for the South Rim’s Desert View overlook on our way to Page. After lunch in Page, our options are a tour of Antelope Canyon or a boat ride to Rainbow Bridge (depending on arrival time). Dinner and overnight accommodations are in Page at the Wahweap Marina or downtown Page.
Day 3 - Today at Lake Powell, we have a chance to float the Colorado River from the base of the 710 foot Glen Canyon Dam. Instead of the float trip, you can take advantage of one of the choices from the previous day (Antelope Canyon or Rainbow Bridge boat tour). Dinner and overnight stay are in Page tonight.
Day 4 - With a morning departure from Page, we head south for a visit to Wupatki National Monument and Sunset Crater. Wupatki is the site of 900 year old Indian ruins and Sunset Crater is a NASA test site and a picture perfect cinder cone that erupted only 2000 years ago. Lunch is in Flagstaff today and we return to Phoenix around 5:00 pm.
