Stunning red buttes and monoliths, lush forests, deep canyon gorges, and views that take your breathe away, all surround this magnificent landscape. Combine that with some great trout water, and you have one of Arizona’s most spectacular fly fishing settings!

We offer excursions on several streams and lakes in the Sedona area. Water levels and time of year dictate which locations will fish the best. Some of the more popular destinations are: Oak Creek, a small, but rewarding fishery that carves out a gorgeous canyon just north of town, and offers wild brown trout and some beautiful rainbow trout. Beaver Creek, which flows through the high desert plains on the east side of town, and offers rainbow trout as well as smallmouth bass. Verde River, a beautiful stretch or river to the south of town, that offers rainbow trout as well as other warm water species. Marshall Lake, a gorgeous lake set high in the pine trees that frames the towering San Francisco Peaks, offers some of the larger rainbow trout in the area.

This fly fishing adventure is perfectly suited for anglers of all abilities, but we prefer the area for beginners and intermediate anglers, as these waters cater more to learning and skill building than die-hard fishing. All of the fisheries are a mix of well stocked areas and catch and release only wild trout areas. The landscape is gorgeous, but forgiving on the cast. Anglers will fall in love with fly fishing while perfecting their skills in a setting that’s perfect for instruction.

Each angler will be outfitted with a full line of Orvis gear, including rods, reels, waders, boots, line, leaders, tippet, and flies. If you have your own equipment, bring it, and we will help you get comfortable with it.

The Hook Up only uses the finest equipment. Our light tackle and bass fishing trips are outfitted with G.Loomis rods, Shimano reels, and the latest tackle and gear fresh off the tournament trail. Our fly fishing trips are outfitted with top of the line Orvis gear, including rods, reels, line, leaders, waders, boots, and flies. We offer the finest fleet of boats in Arizona, including 20 and 21 foot tournament rigged bass boats and 24 foot tournament rigged bay boats. All of our adventures include use of our gear and equipment.

The Hook Up is a fully insured and permitted guide service, carrying special use permits from the Tonto, Apache/Sitgreaves, Coconino, Coronado, Kaibab, and Prescott National Forests and the Maricopa County Park and Recreation Department. With permitted access to more water than any other outfitter in the state, the only problem that might arise is deciding on a fishing location to start your adventure. All of our guides are licensed through the Arizona Game and Fish Department, and are fully certified in first aid and CPR.

The Hook Up takes you to Arizona’s most spectacular places. Our tournament proven guides are not only expert fishermen, but are also experts on the flora and fauna of the desert, as well as on the native history of Arizona, and are excited to share their knowledge with you.

*Trophy fish are a valuable resource that needs all of our help to survive. The Hook Up requires 100% catch and release of all sport fish species. Our guides are equipped with scales and measuring tapes to certify your catch, and we would be glad to help you arrange a replica mount of any fish. We do allow you to keep any non-sport species, up to the legal limit, at your guides discretion.

This tour must be booked at least 24 hours in advance of your travel date. Your confirmation for this product will be received within 12- 24 hours subject to availability.

Cancellation and No Show Policy

Cancellations within 24 hours of the tour are charged in full. Cancellations prior to 24 hours are charged a minimum $10.00 per person administration fee. We charge for NO SHOWS. No Shows on tour dates are charged 100%. Some specific tours and activities have a higher cancellation fee due to the limited space available.

Recommended for all tours in Phoenix: Comfortable shoes, sunscreen, hats, visors and sunglasses.

Weather: Tour route or activity may be changed depending on local weather conditions.

Meals, Gratuities and Souvenirs are NOT included.
